Rawalpindi to be monitored through CCTV cameras.

RAWALPINDI - Rawalpindi Police have devised a plan to monitor the city through CCTV cameras in collaboration with the citizens.
Controls rooms will be set up at every Police Station while the cameras will be put online with the cooperation of cable operators. Installation of alarm system at commercial centres and houses is also part of the plan.
CPO Rawalpindi Israr Ahmed Abbasi said that the purpose of launching the programme is to minimise the crime rate in the city with the cooperation of citizens.
Meanwhile, the Punjab government has approved a mega project worth Rs 69o million for improvement in water supply system in Rawalpindi cantonment.
This project includes installation of 18 new tube wells, construction of overhead and groundwater storage tanks, water supply for Dhoke Chaudhrian and water distribution network for Kot Kalan and Morgah. This scheme was started on the directives of Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan. After the completion of this project residents of the localities will be able to get clean drinking water.
According to MD WASA government of Punjab has handed over the responsibility of water supply to 13 union councils to this agency.
